Comparatively Easy: Why Research Is Needed for Health Care Reform.
I need not read the second paragraph before I can say to myself (and of course that bragging subconscious of mine) that this is what our country needs to be doing. Research. Time and research or time FOR research. I don't know why we keep on jumping to projects wo really having a study for it. Or simply support these government projects w. at least a feasibility. We jump into it as soon as the budget is approved. Of course, upon having 25% of the approved budget, who wouldn't? Well hey, I'm not being some micro-managing politician wannabe. I'm just this typical guy who observes...a lot. I don't mean to pry on those who are in seat but aren't those our concern too? It's our taxes anyway. What I mean to say is this simple article made me twinge a little bit, thinking: This is one particular reason why we stay Third World. We tend to leave infinitesimal processes which are thoroughly important for the big picture. Research and Development. We jump in as soon as we see the fish. Sometimes not knowing what kind of fish it is, wo minding if it's inedible. Now I do my job as a person of this country. Not as a dedicated industrial designer, nor a son or a friend, but just a simple breathing person of this country. Let's be the Filipinos we were when we were at our best years. Back when these big wig countries look up to us: Korea, Japan and Singapore. Let our generation accept if we are to be the bows of the next generation arrows. To support and back up the upcoming generation by building the arena for them. Or if we are to be the arrows of this country, let us find the courage to stand up for what we know deep in our nationalistic hearts to be true. And fight for it.
I am just this guy who surfs the internet everyday. Turns on the pc and let myself drown in the pool of social networking sites. I am just about average. An average person who tends to read a lot and loves to do researches on things I find interesting, which in my case, everything. This piece of skill (if it's even considered to be) that I have is what makes me define things, pin point details of what seem to be non-existing to others. But this is what separates me from being just average. And we all have this one gift. There it is, somewhere inside. No more average. No more mediocrity.
This article I found caused some catalyst in me that I took time sharing it w. you guys. I hope we can all find this catalyst in us. To prove to ourselves that we are no longer in the sidelines. You and I, we both know we're now waging war. Not against any country. Not even against our government. But we are at war w. no other than ourselves. Let us find that one catalyst to move us into being what we truly are.
You and I are either a bow or an arrow for this country.
